CAREPOINT HEALTH AND HUDSON PRIDE CENTER ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO EXPAND HEALTHCARE ACCESS TO LGBTQ COMMUNITY AND DEVELOP INCLUSIVE POLICIES & PROCEDURES
Announcement Comes During National LGBTQ Health Awareness Week; CarePoint Health to Implement Policy Review and Adoption of Best Practices Including LGBTQ Sensitivity & Cultural Competency Training
What: On Tuesday, representatives from CarePoint Health and Hudson Pride Center will join together to announce a new partnership to both expand access to healthcare for the LGBTQ community, as well as develop inclusive policies and procedures for patients and employees to ensure best practices. This will include LGBTQ sensitivity and cultural competency training.
The announcement comes during national LGBTQ Health Awareness Week, held this year from March 26th through March 30th with the focus on bringing attention to health care disparities that affect the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) community. Jersey City is one of the most diverse cities in the nation with one of the largest LGBTQ communities and CarePoint Health wants to ensure that all its patients have full access to needed services.
