It's that time of year!! Philadelphia's 5th annual amateur drag party, the Beauty Ball 2014, has been confirmed for Saturday, October 4th, from 7pm-10pm at the upstairs dance floor of Woody's, and this year promises to be the biggest one yet!

Last year's winner, the amazing Bev, has agreed to be the Mistress of Ceremonies, and the Gayborhood's most popular promoter - Josh Schonewolf- and the city's newest LGBT athletic league - Stonewall Kickball - Philly - have partnered to promote this always-fun charity event. And famous Philly DJ Carl Michaels will be spinning tunes all night!

Admission is $10/person, and we are very excited to announce that all net proceeds from this year's Beauty Ball will go towards the Mazzoni Center, Philadelphia's largest LGBT healthcare and wellness center.

As an added bonus, this year's guests will receive a professional photograph of them in drag by Jonathan Hernandez, who regularly shoots the Gayborhood's most famous and beloved Queens. And the talented and sexy Alexander John Photography will be on hand to photograph guests as they enjoy the party atmosphere.

Furthermore, any guest who wants their face professionally painted by some of the city's best Drag Queens will have the opportunity to do so before the Beauty Ball for only $15! Make sure you RSVP below and comment that you'd like to take advantage of this fun offer.

The Beauty Ball was started by Dr. Patrick Barrett five years ago, and was initially just a gathering of his friends and held in his apartment. The event was so popular that it moved to the Gayborhood, and held it's fourth annual event at Woody's last year. This year, Woody's has once again generously donated their space and is offering drink specials. And it's important to note that your donation ($10 cost of admission) will allow you to party all night on Woody's Dance Floor from 7pm-2am.

While guests are not required to don drag - everyone is welcome whether they are in drag or not - for those guests that do decide to "be fabulous", they can also choose to participate in the annual lip-sync competition to see who will be crowned this year's "Beauty Queen". An All Star panel of judges will decide who wins based on 1 minute "kamikaze" lip-syncs; the winner gets a "crown" and bragging rights for the whole year ;-)
