(Monte)…is out of Red Bank— (and) has been writing music since she was 15. After listening to David Bowie in her bedroom for years, she writes of her own life experiences. Now she listens to Missouri singer-songwriter Chapell Roan. “Cowboys” is the song that caught our ear.
When asked about it, she says, `Cowboys’ is definitely more country than I usually lean towards in my music, as I’m inspired by [Americana]. I think my writing and lyricism tells those kinds of stories. I mean, I am, after all, a storyteller at heart and just hope people can resonate with my music. The overall genre of my music, though, is decidedly indie pop for sure.”
They can safely say that “Cowboys” ain’t no country song. We like to say around here that it’s attitude that sets The Jersey Sound apart and this young lady has it in spades.
