Online Event: Teen Pride

Monday & Tuesday - 3:15PM to 4:00PM EST

LGBTQ+ students, if ever there was a time to step up and make your voice heard, it's now. Your fellow queer peers are longing for a safe place to connect and thrive, and the answer is simple. Genders & Sexualities Alliances are student-led community-based organizations designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ people and their allies.
Scientific studies show that these organizations have a significant positive impact on the health, academics, and social life of students of a minority sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Numerous judicial decisions in United States federal and state court jurisdictions have upheld the establishment of GSAs in schools, and the right to use that name for them.
Since 2014, the OutCenter has helped 16 schools start up their own Genders and Sexualities Alliance organizations. Why not yours? The OutCenter's Teen Pride program is here to help you step into your power as a leader and revolutionize your school culture, making it a safer and more accepting place for LGBTQ+ students.
In this new virtual age, our programs are more accessible than ever before. Now, you don't have to come to the OutCenter to participate, because we're bringing the OutCenter to you. With the OutCenter's virtual Teen Pride leadership summit series led by Program Coordinator Alex Cross, you will gain all of the tools, training, and guidance you need to confidently and boldly lead your own GSA.
Join us in our mission to make Southwest Michigan a more accepting and welcoming place for LGBTQ+ people by starting or rebooting your school's own GSA this school year.
Each summit has an alternate date. You can choose to attend either Monday or Tuesday.
About the OutCenter
The OutCenter is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization governed by a board of LGBTQ+ community members and allies. Our mission is to provide LGBTQ+ people and their families with the services and support they need to feel safe and comfortable in their communities, while also working with local and state-wide groups to establish respect and understanding of LGBTQ+ people and bring equality home to Southwest Michigan (Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties).
