Lakeside Sings Sondheim was originally planned as our celebration of the 90th birthday of Broadway's best lyricist back in March 2020, but COVID had other plans for us. Sadly, Stephen Sondheim passed away recently at the end of 2021. His impact on musical theatre cannot be overstated; he took the foundation of book musicals, like those by his mentor, Oscar Hammerstein II, and infused them with rich, complex melodies and themes, constantly expecting more and more of his performers and audiences alike. The Lakeside Pride Wilde Cabaret is delighted to be returning to monthly shows at Sidetrack -- again -- on March 19, 2022, to present Lakeside Sings Sondheim - this time as a tribute. With our largest cast of singers and accompanists ever, this performance is our most ambitious yet - a love letter to the prolific icon whose dedication to his art led to one of the most robust and poignant songbooks in American history.
COVID Precautions
