State Of The LGBTQIA+ Community at Jeannette Rankin Peace Center in Missoula MT

Tuesday, April 19, 2022 - 6:00PM to 7:30PM MST

Join us for a community forum at the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center at 6 pm on April 19th for discussions about the "state of the LGBTQIA+ Community" here in Missoula and Western Montana.

This event came together after it was brought to our attention that homophobic graffiti had been tagged in many places on the Milwaukee Trail along the Clark Fork River. This is only one instance of homophobic or transphobic behavior our community faces. Because of recent events, local organizers, elected officials, and city workers decided it would be a great idea to have LGBTQIA+ community members gather and share experiences, concerns, and ideas for creating positive change.

The discussions will be facilitated by Jacqueline Flewellen, Director of JRPC, and Andy Nelson, Director of the Western Montana LGBTQ+ Community Center. The goal of this community forum is to have productive and engaging conversations focused on issues the LGBTQIA+ community faces here in Missoula, outline avenues folks can take to seek support, and create action items to make our home a more safe, equitable, and inclusive place to live.

*A Zoom option will be provided for those not in attendance. Email hello@gaymontana.org for the link.
