Common Good Missoula Founding Celebration at Missoula Fairgrounds in Missoula MT

Thursday, May 19, 2022 - 5:00PM to 9:00PM MST

As members of Common Good Missoula, we would like to invite you to our Founding Celebration on May 19th, 2022 from 5-9pm at the Missoula County Fairgrounds 4H Pavilion. Join us for an Indigenous art market, food trucks, and conversations starting at 5pm. Our program will begin at 6:30pm.

We are coming together in this founding celebration to acknowledge this unique moment in the history of Missoula where citizens - through their organizations - are coming together to publicly commit to working together for the long-term benefit of our fellow Missoulians.

This founding celebrates the workshop leaders and organizations across Missoula have been doing for over six years. First through the interfaith world, then for the last three years – across the entire civil sector of Missoula – non-profits, neighborhood associations, unions, and faith communities. We are making a public commitment to continuing to engage our members, our neighbors, and each other to build a healthy democratic space in Missoula.

We will celebrate the work these organizations and leaders have done toward Truth and Reconciliation. Our Wrestling with the Truth of Colonization Workshop has helped over 200 Missoulians face the true history of our valley and acknowledge their role within that narrative. By acknowledging these hard truths, we will move toward being a true interracial organization built on trust and allyship. We are making a public commitment to continuing this work and expanding the participation base.

Join us to celebrate the above accomplishments and witness our public commitments. The work we are doing and pledge to continue doing is not for self-interest, but for the common good. We hope you can join us for this special evening.
